Remember is the first drop in our latest and most beautiful collection yet: The Dreamers Collection.

Śakuntalā

The Sanskrit word on the top of this ring has three meanings: To meditate, to wish, and to remember.

To meditate, because it is said that the ways of the world, of nature, and the knowledge of ancients, can penetrate the mind when it is still. 

The wish of this ring is to honour Sanskrit and spread a little of its beauty; a language that only becomes more incredible the more you learn about it.

The last meaning, to remember: I feel like much of the knowledge we require is already out there, and within us, and we’re not as much coming up with new ideas as we are remembering information that we’ve lost touch with… 

The bird etched on the side is a peacock to represent Kalidasa, as it can be said that Sanskrit’s beauty is represented by Kalidasa. But I chose the bird specifically for this piece to represent Śakuntalā, a heroine of ancient Indian mythology, specifically in a play known as Abhijñānaśākuntalam. The peacock is one of the birds that looked after her. A play about remembering, forgetting and fighting power hungry demons before finding love and taking a journey through heaven; a play centered around a ring. 

One fascinating thing about the Sanskrit language is the theory that it could significantly improve the efficiency of computers. Due to its grammar system, which is structured around 4000 concise, formal rules, some experts theorise that Sanskrit could be a practical method for representing meaning to computers without ambiguity.

Got the wrong size, not happy with the piece, or want to change to a different one? No worries!

1. Refunds/exchanges must be made within 30 days of receiving the package.

2. All items must be returned in the condition in which they were received, brand new, unused and inside their original packaging. (For cuffs, this means they cannot have been bent)

3. We are happy to exchange the piece for a different style, as long as the price differences are paid for.

4. Exchanges are subject to stock availability.

5. We recommend purchasing the desired exchange piece to avoid the stock selling out while we are waiting for the exchange piece to come back.

6. Sale items are non-refundable.

7. If the item has arrived damaged we must be notified within hours of the package being received.

8. We are not responsible for loss or damage during return shipment.

9. For USA orders, refunds are issued less 20% for the tariff payment.

10. For USA returns, the customer must pay tariffs required for the return shipment.

We import 100% certified recycled sterling silver which is refined until it is 30% stronger than traditional silver, and four times more corrosion resistant. This is tested and certified.

Our oldschool matchbox-style packaging is made from 100% recycled card and printed with soy-based inks. It also includes our organic cotton bag, polishing cloth, and a note sharing the story behind the craft.
