When I was young, I was drawn to fantasy because I could not find a way to be satisfied with the world as it was. I had never come across a real place where I truly felt a sense of belonging, so I looked elsewhere, to unreal places.

It’s not easy to admit, but it took a long time for me to finally understand where the line is between my love for magic and my desire to escape my life. Like most things, for me, it became an addiction. I sought comfort from those magic places, found it, and ultimately became lost in them. It did not matter that I couldn’t form the relationships I truly wanted, or that I did not care for my body. I didn’t need to. I hardly even identified with that body..."

Crafter's Note

This one came together like a dream. The longest part of the process was finding the right idea to imbue into it - I started being inspired by rocks, trying to make something that looked like stone guarding the wrist. But finally, I found my inspiration in flowers and beetles, two great reminders of where magic can always be found.
