"This ring is about a strange dream in my childhood jungle playground, and perhaps about growing older and experiencing the world. It all began in playful adolescence in the place where waiwai flows from the summit to the sea, the place where my imagination first felt adventure. We all had a place like that. Places that show us magic in a humble juvenile way, the most influential time of our development. It’s important that we remember these places and travel back to them often, even if it’s in our thoughts. Let not the modern adult life drown out that magic. This piece is to remind you that wherever you go, so does your inner child. The child who gazes at the stars, runs into the mountains, and visits the ocean just because it’s beautiful. For me, this ring reminds me of ahupua'a, ke alaula, ke ala hōkū, it's about nāna nā moe and ho'oponopono. However, what's more important is the realm this design sparks in your imagination. This collection is handcrafted with 925 sterling silver and plated with 24k Gold Vermeil. Our silver is 100% certified, we're still working on the gold certificate though. The gold plating is 3.5 microns thick over solid silver, but we also add an additional little layer of 18k on top for strength.
The 18k gold is harder and protects the 24k plate which itself is highly corrosion resistant. Our inhouse scientists found this gets us the longest lasting plating.
THE PIECES ARE SWEAT-PROOF, WATER-PROOF and OCEAN-PROOF.
With durability in mind, we source our pure recycled silver from a leading
Belgium / German based company, where it is refined at 330ppt oxygen level – crucial to crafting a high quality product. Our silver is refined slightly above the 92.5% silver mark and each piece is actually 93% silver. We also use some methods that help make it slightly stronger than your traditional sterling and four times more corrosion resistant which has been certifiably tested.
We plate the gold here in Indonesia, at a internationally recognized gold plating provider. Their in-house chemists check the pieces and baths regularly to ensure the highest quality.
These little goodies are then carefully packed away in an old-school matchbox that we crafted from recycled cardboard, with an organic cotton canvas bag, our signature polish cloth, n’ a little more...

In the event of a failed delivery or Return to Sender due to an incomplete address or unknown location, Salty Dagger will charge a $30 AUD fee to cover the costs of returning and resending the package.
