FAQ & Tips

  • Can all pieces be engraved?

    Right now, we're only doing rings. And not every ring can be engraved due to space constraints. Also, we don't engrave size 5.5 rings because there simply isn't enough room.

    If you have a piece in mind, just visit its product page and take a look. If there's an option to add an engraving, you're good!

  • Small Sizes

    For smaller sizes (6.5 - 8), we recommend using the standard font. Other fonts can be harder to read at small sizes. But ultimately, it's up to you!

    Currently, we don't offer engravings on size 5.5 pieces as we just don't think they come out nice at that size.

  • Engraving Placement

    When we get your order, we'll pick the best place to fit your engraving by hand, based on how much text you have, and what style the piece is.

Text Length Tips

To keep it simple, the shorter your text, the bigger we can engrave it - meaning the clearer it will come out. We've made a handy chart of our recommendations for text length per ring size!

More FAQ

  • Do engraved pieces require different care?

    No, in most cases an engraved ring doesn’t need any special care or extra cuddles. That being said, pieces engraved with our laser may experience some extra oxidisation around the engraved text. We give it a lil TLC here before we send it off however if it decides to darken up a little bit before reaching you, a lil sweep with your included polish cloth will sort it out.

  • Do some rings work better for engravings than others?

    Short answer, Yes. It’s best to cut down on the amount of text used on smaller rings and/or choose a more simple font due to less space within the ring it can become a little crowded.

    Rings that have a straighter band (like The Seeker) are the best for engravings - for rings (like the True North) which have a significant taper, the engraving may need to be on a slight angle.

  • What if I want to change my text after I've placed my order?

    We cannot guarantee any changes after checkout, as once your order is placed we give it the green light.

    However, if you realise just after, please reach out to us ASAP and we can try and change it for you provided it hasn’t been engraved yet. But we can't promise anything.
